Timing a journey to follow Japan’s cherry blossom front offers an enchanting way to experience spring across the country. We begin in Kyoto, strolling along the famous Philosopher’s Path, where gentle breezes carry falling petals across quiet canals and temple-lined walkways. As the southern blooms start to fade, we travel north toward Honshu, chasing the next wave of sakura. Our final destination is Hirosaki Castle, where thousands of cherry trees transform the grounds into a magical pink tunnel reflected beautifully in the surrounding moats. Throughout the journey, we pause for hanami picnics, savoring seasonal treats and enjoying the delicate, fleeting beauty of blossoms that symbolize renewal and the passing of time.
